Sleeping vs waking up

When fate presents itself upon us as something we can't master, we feel as everything around us is crumbling down. Our brain stops its normal activity, adrenaline kicks in, and as the trembling spreads troughout our entire body, negative thoughts get the best of us. We try to snap out of it, but we get hit back, and as we fall to the floor, although we lay awake, we wish we were asleep, because everyone knows that in dreams you never get hurt, you always wake up just in the nick of time...
When fate presents itself upon us as we always wanted it to be, picture perfect, cristal clear, all there's left to do is rejoice on our good fortune. However, "You can fool some of the people all the time, and all the people some of the time, but you can never fool all the people all the time.". That is why sooner or later something or someone falls out of place and you come to realize that reality is never picture perfect, and scarcely cristal clear, making your world nothing more than a shallow dream. You then want to wake up, because pleasureable as dreams can be, if you let yourself be caught up on them, you'll never truly enjoy life...
To lay awake in a world of peril, or to fall into a never ending slumber of ilusion are not the only two choices we have. So what can we do to ignore them inside us? Do we follow our instincts blindly? Do we hide our mind from these bad dreams and give in to sad thoughts that are maddening? Do we sit here and try to stand it, or do we try to catch them red handed? Do we trust some and get fooled by fonyness, or do we trust nothing and live in lonelyness?
If we turn our backs we're defenseless, and to go blindly seems senseless. If we hide our minds and let it all go on then they'll take from us 'till everything is gone. If we let them go we'll be outdone, but if we try to catch them we'll be outruned. If we're cheated by the questions like a cancer, then we'll be burried in the silence of the answers by our selfs.
We will know what to do, when we see that action and consequence are much more than powers beyond our reach and domain, but the very essence that keep us moving, that make life worth living for.
Sleep when you're tired, get up when you have to and whatever you do, live the dream.

Pelas lyrics aconselho-te incubus, morning view e algumas dos guano apes, proud like a god. Mas, como é óbvio, isso pura e simplesmente rossa levemente o limiar da imensidão de músicas com lyrics bacanas que existem neste mundo quadrado (coldplay mui bueno as well :-) ).
